Auto cancel if spoken words not understood

Post by flashsam » 31/01/2013, 17:37

Hi,

Is it possible to have a setting whereby the app will cancel itself after a certain number of tries if it doesn't understand what you are saying to it?

For example, whilst walking outside today it was very windy and I was trying to send a text but the app kept on saying that it didn't understand what I was saying so it went round in a loop constantly asking me to repeat and then saying again it didn't understand so eventually I had to take my phone out of my pocket (which defeats the point!) in order to cancel the voice control app.

Maybe a setting where if it doesn't understand after X attempts then it shuts itself down?

Thanks,
Sam

I think that you were using Voice Control with a Bluetooth device. Currently, in such situation, you can quickly close Voice Control by pressing the bluetooth button :) .

Hello,

I'm using wired headphones but if I press the headset button once then my music player starts/stops.

It would be useful to have a setting for maximum number of attempts before it gives up.

Thanks

Well, I would prefer to add the support to close Voice Control with the wired headset button, but if it is too hard, I will add the option :)

Thank you, I would really appreciate it as then I can continue to use my headset button to control my music player so I don't have to take the phone out of my pocket in order to cancel voice control if it continually doesn't understand me.

Yes, I would like something like this too. A maximum iteration count of 'I didn't understand' messages before VC exits itself.

If you are, for example, driving and this is going on repeatedly and for some technical reason the cancel button doesn't work it is very distracting.

What would also be useful is auto cancel if no network connection after certain number of tries.

I had to get my phone out of my pocket on my way home earlier in the rain in order to close the app as it went in a loop saying 'no connection, try again' which didn't seem to end on it's own!

This topic is quite old, but I bump it up.
I would like this feature to be added to Klets: a max number of retries if the command is not understood.

Thanks

Yes, I would like auto-cancel after a number of tries (e.g.3). I use Klets in the car by BT and I know the problem is engine background noise. I can't move the mic. To cancel I have to reach for the phone and cancel on screen (which might lead to an offence). Pressing the car button either turns on the phone music player or initiates a BT reconnect. Accepting incoming calls isn't affected because I don't use my voice for that. Many thanks.
